Q. What is Complexion Protection™?

A. Complexion Protection™ is a trademarked feature in Bondi Sands Sunny Face products. It helps to maintain calm, clear skin and won't compromise the skin barrier or cause breakouts. The dermatologist approved formulas are oil free & non comedogenic with a lightweight and breathable texture, ensuring your pores aren’t clogged.

Q. Is Sunny suitable for sensitive skin?

A. Yes! Sunny is dermatologist approved and has been formulated with your skin in mind to be gentle and safe to use on sensitive skin. All products in Sunny’s face range like Sunny Spritz contain our innovative Complexion Protection™ formula which helps to maintain calm, clear skin by not compromising the skin barrier or causing irritation. It's also infused with Vitamin E and Australian Hibiscus to leave your skin feeling deeply moisturised. However, if you’re ever unsure if you can use a product, it’s best to consult with your doctor or dermatologist.

Q. Should I wear sunscreen every day?

A. Yes! We strongly encourage wearing sunscreen daily because even during cooler months or on cloudy days, UV rays can still reach your skin. Daily suncare is easier than ever to seamlessly include in your beauty routine thanks to Sunny! Simply choose which Sunny product you’d like to use, and apply it as the final step in your morning skincare routine. Be sure to reapply throughout the day to ensure your skin remains healthy and protected.

Q. What does SPF 50+ mean?

A. SPF or ‘sun protection factor’ is a rating that refers to a theoretical amount of time you can stay in the sun and be protected without getting burnt, compared to unprotected skin. For example, all Sunny products are SPF 50+ which allow you to stay in the sun with less risk of sunburn for fifty times longer than you would if you weren’t wearing sunscreen. Direct sun exposure can change the texture and elasticity in your skin, which can cause the appearance of premature ageing like wrinkles.

Q. What is very high protection sunscreen?

A. Very high protection SPF like Sunny refers to sunscreen that will protect your skin from both UVA and UVB rays. UVA rays are those that reach the middle layer of the skin (the dermis) and can cause skin to age, while UVB rays are linked to the burning of the outer layer of the skin (the epidermis).

Q. What are UVA and UVB rays?

A. Ultraviolet A (UVA) is light that is around all day, year-round. Even when it’s cloudy, UVA can penetrate the middle layer of the skin (the dermis) which plays a major part in skin ageing and wrinkles. It can even penetrate through glass windows! Ultraviolet B (UVB) is light that is more prevalent in sunny climates and conditions, and UVB has been associated with burning of the outer layer of skin (the epidermis) that can cause skin to burn and turn red. UVB has been strongly linked to some cancers. While exposure to UV rays can help to achieve your daily dose of Vitamin D, it’s very important to wear sunscreen like Sunny every day to protect yourself from sun damage.

Q. How are Bondi Sands SPF products tested & regulated?

A. All of our SPF products, including the Sunny range, are tested in line with UK Cosmetics regulations and EU cosmetics regulations to ensure they meet and exceed industry standards and regulations. We work closely with our manufacturer and testing partners on the pre-market compliance process to ensure all product claims are substantiated with robust testing and evidence, including validated SPF, broad spectrum, and water resistant testing for relevant products.

We are also proudly Peta approved, and our products are not tested on animals at any stage of development.
